Tom said that the sum of 5/12 and 1/12 in simplest form is 6/12.Is he correct? Explain.

No Tom is not correct as the simplest form for the sum of 5/12 and 1/12 is not 6/12. This can still be simplified by 6 and that would give you 1/2 as the most simplified answer.

when you get 6/12 you are suppose to divide by 2ans get 1/2 which means that Tom is incorrect
