If M is the midpoint of RS, then RM and MS have to be equal, so RS has to be 2*109 = 218.

First, find the x:
13x+5+11x+21 = 218
24x+26 = 218
24x = 192
x = 8

13x+5 = 11x+21
13(8)+5 = 11(8)+21
104+5 = 88+21
109 = 109

MS does equal to 109.
