If you start with a ratio in the form p/q and want a ratio with a denominator of 1, simply divided p by q.
So suppose you are given the ratio 35/10 (so that p = 35, q = 10).
Then divide 35 by 10 which gives 3.5.
So the units ratio is 3.5:1 or (7/2):1
