Which system of numbers is most similar to the system of polynomials?

The system of polynomials is almost the same with the system of whole numbers. In fact, polynomial functions are not too dissimilar to our whole number system. We count with and use a base 10 (decimal) system. Polynomials such as the function above are a "base x" system. I hope my answer has come to your help. God bless and have a nice day ahead!
