Distance between wall and end of the ladder at ground =   leg ²  = 2 m

Height of wall = x m

Use Pythagorean theorem

leg² +x² = 10²

2² + x² = 100

4 +x²    = 100

       x² = 100 -4

      x² = 96

      x = √96

       x  = 9.7979

      x = 9.798 m
