Is this what you mean this is what i understood.



X-4=10;4x+1=57


First equation solve for x.

X-4=10

Add 4 both sides

X=10+4


X=14

Second equation substitute your x answer into second equation to make both sides equal.

4x+1=57

4(14)+1=57

56+1=57

57=57
