Why might a large predator and a small animal that it eats have different adaptatios?

Adaptions? Adaptation has no real relevance to what each predator eats, it's about how quickly an animal can become suited to the new area it's being put in. A small animal might be quicker to adapt but a larger animal might have trouble.
