Answer:

Ok, so, since carbonic acid is is formed when CO2 gas gets dissolved in water, it's actually very possible to get either carbon or bicarbonate, by passing CO2 into alkaline solutions :)

Normally, carbonates are formed when little amounts of CO2 progress through alkaline solutions.
